Welcome my friends, to Joyfully Overwhelmed. It is my desire to encourage you in your faith, marriage, and parenting and to help you go from overwhelmed to Joyfully Overwhelmed. I will share my life, my faith, my trials and errors, my successes and fails, and how I live life as a joyfully overwhelmed Mama.
A little about me and my overwhelmed life
My name is Frankie Jean, I am a daughter of the King, wife, and homeschooling Mama. I have been married to my best friend Ruben for seven years. We are a blended family with six beautiful girls ages 20 to 2 and a new grandson; at home, currently, we have Page(11), Stella(4), and Emilia(2). My family just moved from small-town Kentucky to Florida’s Gulf Coast. Last year God started calling us out of our comfort zone to move 800 miles away to start a new ministry. Some of my favorite things are coffee (Café Bustelo!) and the Bible; my husband, wine, and Poirot (or any other BBC mystery); my kiddos, snuggles, and crafts; cooking, music, and dancing (badly!). Our home is often loud and chaotic but I wouldn’t want it any other way, usually!
We have homeschooled the last three years and I can honestly say that they have been the best years of my life. It is amazing the feeling you get when you are doing God’s will; even during the tough times His peace and joy gives you the encouragement to keep going. I am blessed to be sharing in my daughters’ lives, the one who can influence and guide their thinking. There are many days when I “fail,” I lose my patience, lose my temper, and yell (a lot!). I must go to God multiple times a day to ask Him for the love and strength to continue. I must go to my daughters to ask for their forgiveness. At the end of the day, I praise God for this opportunity and for these lives that He has placed in my husband’s and my care.
Life, marriage, and motherhood are constantly in a state of change. I don’t believe anyone has all the answers and I don’t believe that there is a one-size-fits-all method for any of it. What works in my life (or what doesn’t) may have a different outcome for you, and what works in my life today may not be what works tomorrow. Do you sometimes find yourself to be more overwhelmed than joyful? My hope is that we can share this journey together, with fellowship and encouragement. As Mamas, the overwhelmed part is pretty much a given, but through God, we are promised the Joy. Thank you for joining me today. I believe that this is the beginning of a great friendship.
With my love and prayers for you, Frankie.
